Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority

The​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Government of Uttar Pradesh has established an Authority called “Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority” (UPEIDA), under the UP Industrial Area Development Act, 1976, by the notification number 4246/77-4-07-94 Bha/07TC, dated December 27, 2007, issued by the Industrial Area Development Department-4, Government of Uttar ​‍​‌‍​‍‌Pradesh.

Mission

Uttar​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) was established by the State Government under the U.P. Industrial Areas Development Act 1976, in December 2007 for the development of Expressways in Uttar Pradesh. It is a newly formed Organization with few employees who are on contract or deputation from State Revenue Department/PWD, and some of them are on a retainer ship or by a service provider.

Vision

The Agra-Lucknow Expressway the first ever project of the government of U.P. conducted by UPEIDA is a corridor of pace which links not only the state capital to Agra but also it to the national capital. The inauguration of this expressway was held on 21.11.2016.

Besides, this expressway will be a source of the growth and the establishment of handlooms, food processing, cold storage, warehousing, and milk-based industries, besides providing opportunities of setting up new Industrial Training Institutes, Educational Institutes, Medical Institutes and helping the establishment of new Satellite/Smart Cities.

In addition to this expressway project, UPEIDA has also commissioned the implementation of three access-controlled expressway projects, namely the “Purvanchal Expressway Project, Bundelkhand Expressway, Gorakhpur Link Expressway,” in the EPC mode. These are the expressway journey projects which have been come up as the vital rapid-access controlled road infrastructure between the eastern and the southern regions of Uttar Pradesh and the state capital as well as the national capital of the country.

Apart from the above Expressway Projects, UPEIDA is also immensely capable of developing the Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj. This expressway will offer a high-speed expressway corridor linking the Eastern, Northern, and Western parts of Uttar Pradesh to the national ​‍​‌‍​‍‌capital.
