Updated status of the Gorakhpur Expressway project
The total length of the fully access-controlled 04 lanes expressway is 91.352 KM.
Approved project cost – Rs.7283.28 Crore (Including Land cost).
Starting point: Jaitpur (District-Gorakhpur) NH-27
Ending Point: Salarpur (District Azamgarh) at Purvanchal expressway.
Districts falling on the expressway – 1. Gorakhpur, 2- Azamgarh, 3- Ambedkarnagar, 4- Sant Kabir Nagar
The project has been divided into 02 packages for implementation.
Project developers M/S APCO Infrastructure Pvt Ltd for Package-1 and M/S DilipBuildcon for package-2 have been Selected for Development. Work is under progress since 10.02.2020
99.10 % land out of the total required land for the project has been acquired till 04.07.2022
Environmental approval and NOC from the Department of Forest are in process.
In order to convey and carry the cultural and commercial values from Gorakhpur to Azamgarh and vice-versa, the government has decided to construct this Link Expressway. The Gorakhpur Link Expressway will provide faster connectivity and a better commuter experience as well as help in getting the population of affected areas closer.
The inauguration of Gorakhpur Link Expressway was successfully completed on 20.06.2025 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath ji, in Village-Salarpur, District-Azamgarh and Village-Bhagwanpur, Tehsil-Sahjanwa, District-Gorakhpur.
